Construction has been completed on the second phase for a new research and development center for Isothermal Systems Research (ISR), a local high-tech firm that specializes in sophisticated computer cooling systems. The project was constructed by the Port of Whitman for the business in the Port's Technology / Industrial Park in Pullman, Washington.
The two story, 38,800 s.f. facility accommodates the firm's research and development operations with a large lab space, open office are for 85 employees, administrative area and a large machine shop used for crafting prototype parts and equipment. The operation utilizes a specialized electrical and data system. The lab space and open office space us a power and data grid located above the ceiling for ease of adaptability for a variety of configurations within the space. A landscaped exterior courtyard provides and outdoor retreat for employees.
The simple, wood-framed structure is clad in various metal siding profiles and bold forms to reflect the progressive nature of the ISR systems designers.
