Art and Architecture Remodel — University of Idaho

University of Idaho — Moscow, Idaho

CKA worked closely with the University of Idaho from the beginning of this project, completing a facility study and phasing plan for necessary improvements to the facility. Once the study was complete, CKA was hired to continue with design services for the project.

Work on this building included three distinct phases (two different general contractors) occurring simultaneously. These phases consisted of the following improvements: upgrade to a code compliant exiting system, the addition of an elevator, design of a new entry for the West side of the building that interfaces with the campus commons project, restrooms on each floor, Landscape Department and Dean of the College of Art & Architecture offices and mechanical and electrical system upgrades.

CKA carefully worked out phasing for the project, keeping the impact of construction activities to the building occupants to a minimum. The project team used creative solutions to keep the project in budget while meeting the program requirements.
